Aluminum Cabinetry

Why We Use Aluminum Cabinetry

Our camper vans are equipped with powder coated aluminum cabinetry. The aluminum construction keeps the weight down while maintaining its strength and durability. Listed below are some of the key reasons why we made the switch to aluminum.

  • Improved Fuel Economy: A lighter vehicle requires less energy to move, directly improving gas mileage and reducing fuel costs.
  • Enhanced Handling and Safety: Reducing the overall weight and lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity can improve handling and stability, especially during highway travel. Less mass also increases safety by reducing the force of an impact.
  • Greater Payload Capacity: By decreasing the weight of interior, you increase the available payload, allowing you to carry more gear, supplies, and fresh water.
  • Less Structural Stress: For vehicle conversions, lighter cabinets place less stress on the van’s frame, supports ribs, and suspension system.
  • Durability and Strength: Aluminum extrusions are exceptionally strong and resistant to expansion or contraction from temperature changes, maintaining their integrity over time. In an accident, bolted-together aluminum frames are less likely to splinter or come apart than screwed-together wood frames.
